Clayton College graduate JJ Virgin releases first book

Dr. Bernard Jensen centennial celebration coming up

Attendees will have the opportunity to listen to world renowned speakers present cutting edge research on iridology, nutrition, and natural health care. Some of the featured speakers include: Dave Carpenter, Jannie Chew, Lindsey Duncan, Micki Jones, Iosif Makarchuck and many, many more.

Landi answered an advertisement on CCNH’s Web site for an internship with Dr. Emmitt Miller, author of Deep Healing: The Essence of Mind-Body Medicine and is now working with him editing and writing copy. Dr. Miller’s book is currently used as a text for the college. We at Clayton are pleased to see people connecting via our Web site.

The Lighter Side of Dark ChocolateClayton College of Natural Health graduate George Rapitis, 2007 M.S. in holistic nutrition. Rapitis’ new book, The Lighter Side of Chocolate: Take It to Heart, sticks up for dark chocolate by exploring the health benefits of the cocoa bean. He researches all the way back to the Aztec Indians’ take on the cocoa bean as the cherished “food of the gods.” The book touches on chocolate’s impact on things such as blood pressure and cardiovascular disease by its powerful flavonoids that help promote heart health. Graduate participates in two poster presentations

Clayton College of Natural Health graduate Ritamarie Moscola, 2003 naturopathic medical doctor. Moscola had two proposals accepted for poster presentations, one being the result of asking seniors (>65 years) to draw a person to be presented at the 2008 Society for Arts and Healthcare meeting in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The other is a collage series that she created after visiting nursing homes and assisted living facilities. It will be presented at the 2008 American Medical Director’s Association meeting in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Graduates conduct health challenge to combat childhood obesity

Clayton College of Natural Health graduates Jacque Miller and Debby Pool, 2006 B.S. in holistic nutrition, 2007 M.S. in holistic nutrition. Miller and Pool are conducting a pilot program in conjunction with the Foothills Sports Medicine Rehab throughout Arizona called the WiL Power Challenge. This non-profit program is designed to combat childhood obesity, poor fitness, and the health problems associated with them. The program consists of three workouts per week, nutritional counseling, and homework and weekend events. Prizes are awarded throughout the program, and participants enjoy a graduation ceremony at the program’s conclusion. Clayton College of Natural Health graduate Mary Marsh, 2000 Ph.D. in natural health. Marsh is the author of Simply Natural, Natural Health Made Easy: 90 Ways to be the Healthy, Happy Person God Created You to Be. It is a Christian based book offering several self-help suggestions for people to improve their health, wealth, and relationships. Based on 15 years of research, Marsh has picked out the techniques that have been effective for her clients and family. It can be used as a one-step a day for 90 days, or readers can skim the book and start incorporating a new technique or idea into their lives on any day. Graduate’s book aids in healing

holdsworth_0308.jpgClayton College of Natural Health graduate Noel Holdsworth’s book “If You Stand in the Middle, You Won’t Fall Down: Letters of Healing from Eloise and Jake” aims to ease readers’ journey toward healing. The book is written in the form of letters from Eloise with postscripts from Jake. Eloise and Jake are fictional amalgams created from years of listening to people’s stories, and finding the common themes in their struggles. Even though they are fictitious, Eloise and Jake tell the stories of real people and real victories over hardship and struggle.
