Graduate authors book on health aspects of chocolate
Clayton College of Natural Health graduate George Rapitis, 2007 M.S. in holistic nutrition. Rapitis’ new book, The Lighter Side of Chocolate: Take It to Heart, sticks up for dark chocolate by exploring the health benefits of the cocoa bean. He researches all the way back to the Aztec Indians’ take on the cocoa bean as the cherished “food of the gods.” The book touches on chocolate’s impact on things such as blood pressure and cardiovascular disease by its powerful flavonoids that help promote heart health.
