Texas Chef and CCNH graduate, Alain Braux, offers Gluten-Free Baking Classes at Whole Foods

Chef Alain Braux, Clayton College of Natural Health graduate in holistic nutrition and winner of numerous pastry competitions, will be presenting the first of a series of hands-on Gluten-Free Baking classes on July 25th. Braux is known for the exquisite Gluten-Free and Dairy-Free desserts that come from his kitchen, as well as being a local health advocate who brings to a gastronomically sophisticated public the message that exceptional health through good nutrition can be yours while enjoying a gourmet life-style.

Braux will guide participants through making Provençal Boule (bread), Cranberry Walnut Scones, Blueberry Muffins, and Chocolate Chip Pecan Cookies. Local professional and amateur chefs alike have benefited from the cooking classes where Braux will explain and demonstrate not only important baking concepts but will offer participants tips of the trade from over 35 years in the industry.

Serving Austin as a nutritherapist and food counselor, Chef Braux is the Executive Chef at People’s Pharmacy Westlake where he focuses on the creation of gluten/dairy-free and low-sugar dishes for clients with specific conditions such as Celiac disease, Hypoglycemia and Diabetes, ADD/ADHD, and assorted food allergies. Through his own business, A Votre Santé, he consults for people with special dietary needs, lectures on the foundation of good health through appropriate nutrition, and teaches cooking classes on how to make gluten-free/dairy-free desserts. Braux is currently working on a book that will bring to the public the concepts of alleviating certain chronic health conditions through appropriate nutrition.

This class will be held on Saturday, July 25th, 10 AM – 1 PM, at Whole Foods Culinary Center located at 525 N. Lamar Blvd. in Austin. Cost for the class is $65.00 per person.
